Lavazza Group signed a new company integrative contract

  • On 25 November 2022, Lavazza Group signed the new company agreement with the united union representation of the management centre and the Fai-Cisl and Uila-Uil organisations.
  • It widely expands the corporate welfare package for the three-year period 2023-2025., seeking a work-life balance for all employees.

The contract, signed by Italy's largest coffee producer, confirms the successful social dialogue pursued by the company and the Group's development plans, linked to the evolution of work organisation, the valorisation of employees, and the corporate welfare of the approximately 1,000 employees.

One of the main provisions is the maintenance and increase in the flexibility of Smart Working, which since 2018 has been an important tool for integrating private and working life needs. For the next three years, employees of the management centre will be able to perform their activities remotely for ten days a month, including consecutively.

Another new feature is the introduction of 'Short Fridays', whereby early departure on Fridays will be possible from May to September.

For new parents, the Group has granted an additional five days of mandatory paternity leave, fully paid and in addition to the statutory 10, and reconfirmed the possibility of part-time work for mothers and fathers until the third year of the child's life.

Additional hours will also be made available for caregiving, accompanying family members and relatives to doctor's appointments and giving veterinary care and assistance to one's pets.

Lavazza has also renewed the economic incentive system for the next three years to recognise the professional commitment and, at the same time, incentivise workers' direct and conscious participation in the company's medium- and long-term strategy.

Finally, the Group will disburse an additional one-time bonus of 700 euros in the paycheck, totally tax-free and articulated in the form of shopping vouchers, fuel bonuses, and household utility reimbursement, to counter the cost of living.

Enrico Contini, Chief Human Resources Officer of the Lavazza Group, commented: “This new supplementary contract, which continues the path taken in previous years, confirms the Lavazza Group's attention to its employees. The innovations add to an already substantial corporate welfare system, consolidate the now firm points of our contract, and further invest in others such as, for example, supplementary health coverage because we firmly believe that human capital is the primary resource for a sustainable and long-term development path for a Group that is becoming increasingly global."
