Veronesi Group: renewal of the second-level integrative contract

  • Veronesi Group renewed the second-level integrative contract for 2023-2025 for about 5,500 people working at the AIA poultry sites.
  • The agreement was signed with the poultry coordination represented by the confederal unions of Veneto

The three main points of the agreement concern the definition of the result bonus, the study of paths for the stabilisation of personnel hired on fixed-term contracts, and the enhancement of equal opportunities:

-          Result bonus: each worker will receive a maximum of EUR 6,750 upon reaching 100% of the objectives set and shared with the trade unions (EUR 2,200 in 2023, EUR 2,250 in 2024, EUR 2,300 in 2025). In addition, the agreement allows the possibility of converting the de-taxed value of the bonus - all or part of it - into purchasing goods or services (e.g., healthcare, education, sports and leisure, shopping vouchers, and petrol). The welfare plan also provides that those who convert 50% or more of their accrued premium will receive an additional net value of 10% of the converted amount, which can be spent exclusively on welfare. The critical point is that workers will be involved in finding innovative solutions to contribute to the formulation of the bonus in those areas: productivity, product quality, health and safety at work, and improvement of environmental sustainability performance.

-          Stabilisation of temporary employees (seasonal and casual workers, typical of the sector): The agreement sets out the requirements for stabilisation on a permanent basis, with particular reference to the number of actual days worked, aiming to balance the needs of workers and the flexibility requirements of the business.

-          Equal Opportunities Commission will have to assess, propose and disseminate initiatives and activities capable of enhancing the value of diversity within the company and preventing forms of discrimination.

Diego Piccolo, Human Resources Director of the Veronesi Group, commented: "We express our satisfaction for the renewal of the supplementary agreement, a result made possible thanks to a constructive dialogue with the trade unions and which, at the same time, encompasses the industry's need for production flexibility and the needs of the people who work every day with commitment and passion in our production sites. We have worked together, sharing the importance of focusing on the involvement of people in achieving company results because we believe this is the right path to follow in order to enhance the contribution that each person can make to improve us every day".
