Eramet creates a "Global Forum" with trade union organisations

  • On 5 July 2023, Eramet, a French multinational mining and metallurgy company announced the creation of a global employee representative body.
  • Eramet Global Forum will negotiate international agreements on social protection, quality of life at work, diversity, inclusion, and parenthood.

On 23 May 2023, the Company signed an agreement with the trade unions of the group’s main operation countries to create the Global Forum. This includes employee representatives from France (including New Caledonia), Gabon, Norway, Senegal, and Argentina.

The Global Forum will deal exclusively with transnational issues, becoming the place where representatives will exchange views with each other and with Group management regarding Eramet's strategy, commitments, and development projects, with a completely innovative power to negotiate agreements applicable to all employees on a transnational level.

Anne-Marie le Maignan, Director of Human Resources, Health and Safety, and member of the Eramet Executive Committee, said: "By dint of its ability to implement schemes that benefit all our employees, the Eramet Global Forum is the perfect embodiment of our CSR commitments and plays a key role in addressing the issues of career development, fairness, diversity and inclusion. It also testifies to our determination to be innovative when it comes to labor relations, since it involves a pro-active approach, based on transnational collective bargaining — an initiative that is unprecedented in the mining industry."
