World Employment Conference 2021: Steering a labour market in transformation

  • The virtual annual conference will take place on 6-8 September 2021.
  • It is organised annually by the World Employment Confederation. This year’s edition is run in partnership with WEC’s Spanish federation ASEMPLEO.
  • Participation is open for subscription.

Transformation is nothing new in labour markets but the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated many of the trends that we were already observing and the world of work is becoming increasingly complex. Technological change, increased uncertainty and changing employee expectations are driving changes that policymakers, businesses and workers have to adapt to. It’s time to simplify that complexity! The World Employment Conference 2021 will discuss those issues and the solutions that employment experts can co-create together to steer this transformation in a way that is beneficial to workers, businesses and society as a whole. The conference will notably feature a panel discussion on the policy framework that we need to enable labour market transformation, including Roberto Suarez Santos, Secretary General of the IOE, Sangheon Lee (ILO), Stefano Scarpetta (OECD) and Shannan Burrows (ITUC). Given the current sanitary conditions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the conference will be held as an online event. It will offer participants access to a variety of content, combining keynote speeches, panel discussions, break-out sessions and online networking. Early-bird rate applies until July 16th.
