In ruling C-331 of 2023, Colombia's Constitutional Court declared the right to disconnect from work a human right that applies to all employees, regardless of their role and function, including those who perform public functions and those in managerial roles.
On 16 March 2023, the government presented to Congress a labour reform bill, described as an ambitious project to improve the conditions and income of workers.
The bill is part of a raft of reforms: it followed the major tax reform last year, and the pension system reform is expected soon.
Both lawmakers and the Constitutional Court must approve it.
On 14 November 2022, ILO published a report on the transition of enterprises, considering them not only in terms of how goods and services are produced but also as a workplace.
The report highlights how to help enterprises and workplaces become green and productive in environmentally sustainable ways, identifying s a range of measures and giving workers a role in the process.
It shows that the greening of workplaces is an increasingly important element of the greening of enterprises.
On 10 August 2021, Colombia issued Law n. 2141, establishing the paternity protection against dismissal and amending Article 239 and 240 of the Colombian Labour Code.
Law 2121, enacted on 3 August 2021, is the first Law in Colombia regarding remote work.
