HR company ManpowerGroup Switzerland launches New JobCenter Platform to support workers in finding new work opportunities

  • JobCenter consultants support, coach and train dismissed employees during their job search.

As the health crisis turns into an economic and social crisis it is important to help impacted individuals move from one role to the next, to reposition their skills in other industries and help them stay employable for the long term. As the numbers of workforce reductions have increased in Switzerland, ManpowerGroup is using technology and human expertise to contribute and providing solutions. The company launched the service JobCenter to help companies and people to adapt by offering assessment, coaching and training, so that workers are guided hrough their job search and companies may offer more support to their impacted employees.

With JobCenter Manpower consultants support, coach and train dismissed employees, carrying out skills assessments, identifying strengths and adjacent skills that can be applied to other roles, while providing practical guidance to update resumes and build a virtual network. Candidates are then matched to open roles that are well suited to their strengths and aligned with the skills companies need.  “The health crisis has impacted companies across every sector and unfortunately many are making difficult workforce decisions” said Gianni Valeri, Managing Director of ManpowerGroup Switzerland. He continued “For most companies a reduction of personnel is the last option, yet when this becomes unavoidable,  helping impacted workers develop their skills and find new roles outside the company isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s also important from a reputational perspective and critical for the communities in which we all live and work. With JobCenter we are supporting companies across all sectors, but particularly those that have been most heavily impacted including tourism, aviation and hospitality, to guide their workers through the process, identify adjacent skills and match them to open positions”.
